Hercules Lithium Battery Fire Extinguisher
For many years, lithium battery fires have been a serious fire threat. From forklifts, electric cars, handphones to electric scooters and bicycles, they are now part of our everyday life. Yet, when a lithium battery fire occurs, there is no known effective solution. The moment a lithium battery heats up and starts burning, it will undergo thermal runaway. Traditional powder, water, foam, carbon dioxide and clean agent fire extinguishers not only do not work but will spread the fire. The only solution would have been to watch the fire burn itself out.
That changes today.
Fire Armour is proud to present the Hercules Lithium Ex Fire Extinguisher. Each Hercules Lithium Ex Fire Extinguisher has an incredibly long discharge time. Upon discharge, the fire fighting agent is very gently applied over the fire as a very fine mist, cooling the fire and encapsulating the battery to stop thermal runaway. Very importantly, the agent is easy to clean up after a fire occurs as compared to traditional powder fire extinguishers. The agent itself does not conduct electricity, making it suitable for use on electrical equipment. Different capacities are available for different sizes of batteries. Certified to EN3 standards, this fire extinguisher has been rigorously tested in Europe.
As there are no standard fire tests available for lithium battery fires, this fire extinguisher is instead tested to EN3 Class A fires. This also allows it to double up as a standard Class A fire extinguisher.

How to use a fire extinguisher?
Before you use a fire extinguisher, always ensure you have an escape route. If you have to use a fire extinguisher, do so at a safe distance. When in doubt, always choose to run. Even professional fire fighters in full fire resistant suits have been trained to never put their own lives at risk.
