Description
All fire extinguishers have a safety pin to prevent accidental discharges. During inspection, one of the most important parts to look out for is whether the safety pin is still attached and secured with a safety seal. The safety seal prevent the safety pin from accidentally falling off. If the safety pin is missing or left hanging from the fire extinguisher, it is a sign that the fire extinguisher may have been tampered with.
The safety seal is intentionally made to be easily breakable. This prevents the operator from failing to break the seal.
