The Singapore Standards 575 : 2012, or SS 575 for short, is the code of practice for fire hydrant, rising mains and fire hose reel systems.

Under this standard, fire hosereels are to be subjected to an inspection once a year. A flow test shall be carried out to ensure that a discharge of at least 0.4 liters per second or 24 liters per minute is achieved.

Hosereels shall be inspected regularly to ensure that the inlet valve, tubing and nozzle are sound and free of leaks and also to ensure that the nozzle is not choked.
